ST. PHILIP'S COLLEGE’S TRUNK OR TREAT HALLOWEEN CARSHOW IS A HIT WITH KIDDOS, OFFERING A GOOD MIX OF COLLEGE CONSCIOUSNESS, CANDY AND A SAFE FREE BOO! FOR FAMILIES BEFORE HALLOWEEN

St. Philip’s College students engaged with the community to debut a free Trunk or Treat Halloween Carshow, a pre-Halloween community event Oct. 28 in Parking Lot 9 at the college’s 1801 Martin Luther King Drive location.

Led by members of the college’s Future United Latino Leaders for Change student organization, the family-friendly event was a holiday themed display of custom cars and bikes along with a costume contest for the kids. On one of the city’s most stable days of the year, children enjoyed the holiday season in magical, glistening broad daylight, listening to the stories told of the cars by their owners in a family-friendly setting with just the right amount of complimentary candy and space to move without feeling crowded upon. Car shows are a staple at the college that is the hub of training for both current and prospective technicians in the region’s multibillion dollar transportation sector, and the Oct. 28 project was the first of its type at the 120-year-old college.
